About Gelun Khola Hydropower
Gelun Khola Hydropower Company Limited was incorporated with a vision to catalyze Nepal’s economic development through sustainable energy infrastructure. Our run-of-river facility in the Jugal Gaunpalika of Sindhupalchowk is a testament to responsible engineering and community-centered investment.
Vision
To be a model of reliable, transparent, and environmentally responsible hydropower generation that drives Nepal’s clean energy future and rewards long-term investors.
Mission
To operate the 3.2 MW Gelun Khola project with engineering excellence, financial discipline, and full regulatory compliance, while contributing consistent energy to the national grid.
Sustainability Commitment
As a run-of-river facility, our operations have a minimal ecological footprint. We are committed to environmental monitoring, local community development, and zero-carbon power generation.

Operations
Operational Performance
Three pillars that define our infrastructure’s reliability and strategic advantage.
Grid Infrastructure & Offtake
100% of generated power is evacuated smoothly into the Integrated Nepal Power System (INPS) via our transmission connection to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) substation.
Hydrological Edge
Designed to optimize the intense mountain gradients of the Bagmati Province, the project utilizes a highly efficient high-head configuration, maximizing megawatt output even during low-flow winter discharge periods.
Operational Maturity
Having crossed our commercial milestone in 2024, the project has transitioned out of construction risk and into a stable, long-term revenue-generating phase driven by a stable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
